THERE she lies calmly in her hospital bed in the special ward prison of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences in Porompat, 3 kms away from Imphal, Manipur. Her special ward prison is full of beautiful plants and creepers that have found their way in, through the window. She is fasting. Behind her curly black hair, pale face, a transparent pipe thrust on her left nose and an earnest smile, is Iche, also know as Mengoubi . Here is her full story.
